COMPOSITION
Andrew is regularly commissioned to compose for theatre, film, television and for an array of education and community settings. His Ruby film score won a BAFTA Scotland Award in 1998, and for stage, he has co-written five productions: The Gates, Miss Smith, Music Of Strangers, Cocktail and 20 Seaward Street with writer/director Rachel McJury. The opera 20 Seaward Street was a collaboration with McOpera (players from The Orchestra of Scottish Opera). All five works feature a live professional ensemble and soloists with community chorus.
He has also composed music for three productions for the clown inspired theatre company Plutot La Vie: A Clean Sweep, First You’re Born and By The Seat Of Your Pants, which received critical acclaim. There are plans for another show in 2019.
He is always interested in new projects and is available for commissions that could range from a nursery school song to a full-scale work for professionals.
Andrew won a BAFTA Scotland award for his film music.
